A Relaxed Engagement Session at Fisherman’s Cove in Laguna Beach
Addie and Mark’s engagement session at Fisherman’s Cove in Laguna Beach was quiet in the best way — unhurried, personal, and centered on simply spending time together. Tucked below the cliffs, the cove offered a sense of privacy that made it easy to slow down and relax into the moment.
Addie and Mark met in college in St. Louis, where their relationship grew out of shared routines, long conversations, and time spent with friends. They now live in Los Angeles, but that familiarity remains. They enjoy being with their people, lingering over good food, and moving through life at an easy pace together — all of which came through naturally during their session.
There wasn’t much structure to our time photographing. We followed the light along the cove and let the session unfold without pressure. I offered gentle guidance when it felt helpful, but the images were shaped by their quiet connection — the pauses, subtle glances, the way they stayed close, and the tenderness that surfaced when nothing was being forced.
The setting at Fisherman’s Cove supported that intimacy. With the sound of the ocean nearby and soft light reflecting off the cliffs, the space allowed for connection without distraction. Nothing felt rushed, and we were able to move through the cove with ease, letting the environment and the moment guide us.
