Photography Style & Approach

  • My work is rooted in emotion, presence, and creating imagery that feels honest and alive. I’m drawn to natural moments, beautiful light, movement, and the subtle interactions that often end up meaning the most. My approach blends an observational, documentary perspective with intentional and artful imagery.

  • Absolutely. Most of my couples tell me this at first.

I’ll guide when needed, but my approach is never about stiff posing or forcing moments that don’t feel natural to you. I focus more on movement, interaction, and creating space for you to actually be together rather than perform for the camera.

  • A bit of both. My approach is rooted in observation and documenting moments as they naturally unfold, but I also step in with guidance when needed—especially during portraits and other moments that benefit from a little direction.

I’m not someone who heavily poses every moment of the day, but I also won’t leave you wondering what to do. The goal is always imagery that feels natural, emotionally honest, and true to you while still feeling intentional and artful.

  • To me, editorial means intentional. I care deeply about composition, light, movement, texture, and creating imagery that feels elevated while still feeling emotionally honest and grounded in real moments.

  • Absolutely — I always love seeing what couples are drawn to visually. Mood boards can be really helpful for understanding the overall feeling, energy, styling, and atmosphere you’re envisioning for the day.

I’ll absolutely use them as inspiration and creative direction, but my goal is never to directly duplicate someone else’s photos. I want your images to feel true to your actual connection, environment, and experience while still aligning with the aesthetic you’re drawn to.

Engagement Sessions

  • Absolutely. I help couples choose locations that feel aligned with their personalities, aesthetic, and the overall feeling they want their photos to have. Whether that’s the coast, architecture, open landscapes, or something more intimate, I’m happy to guide you.

  • I always recommend wearing something that feels comfortable, natural, and reflective of your personal style rather than something overly trendy or unfamiliar. Neutral tones, texture, movement, and pieces you genuinely feel good in tend to photograph beautifully.

I also usually recommend coordinating rather than perfectly matching. The goal is for the two of you to feel cohesive while still feeling like yourselves. I’m always happy to help with outfit guidance and narrowing down options before your session.

  • Engagement sessions are meant to feel relaxed and low-pressure. Rather than constantly posing you, I’ll guide you naturally while also creating space for movement, conversation, and genuine interaction. The goal is to create images that feel true to your relationship.

  • I typically recommend scheduling engagement sessions around sunrise or sunset for the most beautiful and flattering light. The softer light during these times also helps create a more relaxed, natural feeling in the final images.

The Wedding Experience

  • My goal is never to pull you out of your wedding day for the sake of photos.

I’m always paying attention to the energy of the day, the people around you, and the moments unfolding naturally. I’ll help guide things when needed, but I also deeply value presence and allowing space for real moments to happen.

  • Absolutely. I help all of my couples build photography timelines that feel intentional, relaxed, and realistic while leaving room for the day to actually breathe.

I am heavily involved in the planning process and will send out a detailed questionnaire 6 weeks before the wedding day to ensure that there is enough time and space for the photos you are looking for.

  • It depends on the pace and structure of your day. Most couples book between 6–8 hours of wedding photography coverage, but I’m always happy to help build a timeline and recommend coverage based on what matters most to you.

  • Yes. I offer both digital and film photography.

I love film because of the way it captures light, color, and emotion. There’s a softness, texture, and depth to it that feels very human and alive to me. I use it intentionally throughout the day for moments that feel especially meaningful or visually compelling.

  • For larger weddings or more complex timelines, I often recommend adding a second photographer to allow for fuller coverage and more perspective throughout the day.

  • Every wedding is different, but most couples receive between 500–900 edited images depending on coverage time, timeline structure, and the flow of the day.

  • Wedding galleries are typically delivered within 4–6 weeks. Engagement sessions are usually delivered within 2–3 weeks.

Booking & Travel

  • Most couples book 8–18 months in advance, especially for spring and fall weddings. If your date is important to you, I recommend reaching out sooner rather than later since I take on a limited number of weddings each year.
